Ultimate Skin Therapy

This “powerhouse” of a soap has it all. If you suffer from acne, eczema, or psoriasis this is made just for you. This specialized combination of ingredients will provide your skin with the soothing therapy it’s so needing. Even if you don’t suffer from these skin conditions this soap is sure to be a winner due to its hydrating, skin balancing, and natural detoxifying properties. It is also free from coconut oil, shea butter, or almond oil, making it is safe for those with nut allergies. Even the Aloe Butter that was used (which I have learned typically has coconut oil as the carrier oil) does not contain it; not easy to find. Colorants were omitted as well in order to create a more natural bar. The highest quality, organic ingredients were used for the development of this skin nurturing soap. I did a great amount of research in order to create a soap for those with skin conditions and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I suffer from Rosacea and adult acne, and this has been a life changer for me. My hope is that it will do the same for you. :)

Please see listing of ingredients and their benefits below.

This soap is going to be a bit higher in price due to the cost of the ingredients used. To give you an idea, google “cost of pure organic Aloe butter,” or “cost of organic Neem oil,” or “cost of organic Tea tree oil.” You get the picture. ;)

****As with using any essential oil, please test on a small area of skin to be certain you do not have a sensitivity to any that were used.****

BENEFICIAL PROPERTIES
Aloe Butter: Aloe butter contains all the key properties of Aloe Vera; skin soothing and restoring with rapid rehydration properties to quickly hydrate and moisturize the skin. Aloe Vera has natural anti-inflammatory properties and naturally contains lignin which aids its ability to draw in other ingredients to the skin.

Cocoa butter: Cocoa butter is high in fatty acids, which is why it's often touted for its ability to hydrate and nourish the skin and improve elasticity. The fat in cocoa butter forms a protective barrier over skin to hold in moisture. Cocoa butter is also rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals which are found to be good for combating skin aging. Skin is a vital organ of the body. Exposure to pollution, chemicals, UV radiation etc. damages the epidermis leading to skin aging. Phytochemicals reduce the physiological signs of aging by reduction of ROS (Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are chemically reactive chemical species containing oxygen), protecting and stimulating matrix-associated proteins, absorption of UV radiation, and maintaining the water-balance in the skin.
Very Sciency stuff!

Neem oil: Neem oil is chock full of carotenoids and antioxidants that help protect your skin against the ravages of free radicals, which cause signs of aging such as wrinkles and age spots. It is rich in vitamin E and fatty acids that help improve skin elasticity and provide and retain moisture. The anti-inflammatory and analgesic agents in neem help reduce the redness, swelling and pain associated with acne and eczema outbreaks. The fatty acids moisturize and nourish the skin, while the antibacterial properties fight the bacteria that cause acne. Neem oil soaks into the skin deeply and also provides a protective barrier to promote healing.

Lemongrass essential oil: Lemongrass is unique because it has antimicrobial, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties. Just like its distant cousin, lemons, it's a natural astringent with some serious antiseptic properties. Not only will it help strengthen skin tissue but it helps kill bacteria and sterilizes pores which also ultimately will help fight off acne. Lemongrass essential oil contains limonene, which naturally lightens the skin. It also has non-comedogenic properties meaning it won't clog pores. As a natural detoxifier, it helps to clear bacteria and impurities, lifting dull skin and helping to give the face a bright, clean appearance.

Tea Tree Oil: Tea tree oil is a popular choice for treating acne because of its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It's thought to calm redness, swelling, and inflammation. It may even help to prevent and reduce acne scars, leaving you with smooth, clear skin. Tea tree oil contains anti-inflammatory compounds, which, according to emerging evidence, may be helpful for easing psoriasis symptoms.

Ylang ylang essential oil: Ylang ylang oil is good for balancing excess oil production on the skin. This makes it good for combination skin. The anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties of ylang ylang oil also makes it good for soothing skin irritations as well as treating acne and wounds. It is said to act as a natural insect repellent, promote wound healing, and diminish the appearance of scars when applied to the skin.

Scent notes:
Top – lemongrass
Middle – Citrus, fruity floral
Bottom – woody, spice

Neem oil has a, not so pleasant, aroma of sulfur and garlic. Yuck! No wonder insects and mosquitos avoid it. Luckily this essential oil combination effectively masks the pungent smell of this extremely beneficial oil. The resultant scent is very invigorating and clean.

Approximate wt: 4.4 oz
Please note, I typically bevel edge the soap. However, I am leaving these “rough cut” in the interest of avoiding wasting any of the product.
