Hello and thank you for visiting Ginkgo Leaf Soap!  We are a small family ran business located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  As a nurse and a Mom, I’m always striving for ways to live a chemical free, organic, earth-friendly lifestyle; which I know can be a pretty tall order given everyone’s busy lives these days.  I actually started out just making soap solely for my family and friends as a natural alternative to the chemical laden, mass produced soap found in retail stores.  However, with much encouragement from family and friends, and a nudge from my always supportive husband, here we are.

Ingredients overview

We make small batches of soap using natural ingredients such as Olive oil, Sunflower oil, Coconut oil, Canola oil, Castor oil, Palm oil, Mango butter, Cocoa butter, Shea butter, Vitamin E, Sea clay, Bentonite Clay, and French Clay just to name a few.  The Palm oil we use is certified RSPO, always and with no question.  What is Certified Sustainable Palm Oil? It’s palm oil that was certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) according to a specific set of criteria. By using only RSPO certified palm we can help to reduce the negative impacts of palm oil cultivation on the environment, wildlife, and communities.  We also strive to use all organic ingredients whenever possible.

No harmful chemicals

The essential oils and fragrance oils used are all Phthalate free and body safe.  Glitter, when used, is completely biodegradable and body safe. We do not use any animal byproducts.  Mica colorants are made from naturally occurring minerals. As some may notice, handmade soap may not last quite as long as store bought soap, but that’s because it has less to no chemicals.  Letting the soap dry out between use will prolong the life of your handmade soap.
